Why We Celebrated Today

Why We Celebrated Today

More than ever I’ve started to realize just how precious time is and I truly have set a goal to make the most of each day. Now given having rough days is inevitable and not all days will be good but how I choose to handle those days is my decision. Sounds cliche but it has given me so much freedom to just not let the negative thoughts distract me from living my life. Negativity can be a real life stealer guys! So I challenge you to find something to celebrate each day. It can be something big like a job promotion or it could be something as small as being on time for something, or having that Pinterest meal turn out (love when that happens) sticking to your diet or workout, trying something new, a relationship, your babies first giggle.. step.. or word, your health, your families health, your home, a good hair day, paying off debt, etc! There are so many things we can celebrate and when we choose to look at all the positives in our life,  soon the negatives fade away and seem so minimal compared to the joy we get from the great things in life. So today as I woke up and saw snow outside I thought I could either let negativity ruin my day because I had a fun day planned outside for the kids or I can make the most of my time with them indoors. As I was going through our storage room looking for ideas, Kyden spotted the balloons and got so excited and started jumping up and down yelling “BAAAAALLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOONS!” at first I thought I’m not blowing all those up.. and then it hit me… why can’t I blow all those up? The quick ten minutes it took me and the little blister I got from tying were well worth it, the balloons made my kids smile for hours and we had so much fun!  Sometimes we get so caught  up in the process or time something takes rather then the reward. Thats life in a nutshell. It takes hard work, it takes time, all of us have to hustle but it all pays off when we apply ourselves and actually choose to look at the “fun” instead of the “hassle”. And I always want to be a fun mom and make the best memories with them, so if I have to blow up a pack of balloons, act completely silly in public, splash in puddles with them I’m going to because they are only little for a such a short time! Take the challenge, make each day a good day!

Today when I asked Kyden what we should celebrate… he said “chocolate!!” 🙂
